    Lt. Gen. P. N. Kathpalia, PVSM, AVSM

    Class of 1942, He graduated from Defence Services Staff College, Wellington and wascommissioned into the Indian Army in 1949. He served as Colonel ofthe Kumaon Regiment for seven years until retirement in 1985. As aBrigadier, he commanded the 71 Mountain Brigade in the Easterntheatre of operations in the Indo-Pak War of 1971. As Lt. General, heserved with distinction as Director-General, Military Intelligence atArmy Headquarters. As DGMI, he was closely involved in themeticulous intelligence gathering and the planning and execution of,‘Operation Meghdoot’, which culminated in the capture of SiachenGlacier from Pakistan in 1984. He is a recipient of Param VishishtSeva Medal and the Ati Vishisht Seva Medal.

    Mr. Shashi Puri

    Class of 1953, He was a recipient of the prestigious Rudra Prize for distinguishedperformance in academic and sports. He graduated from ShriramCollege of Commerce with honours in B.Com and also a law graduate(LLB). As a Chartered Accountant and upon completion of FCA, he setup his practice in 1960 in Delhi. Over the years he worked in the fieldof Interpretation of Double Tax Avoidance Agreements between Indiaand various countries and represented before various appellateauthorities. He is one of the founding members of ‘The ModernitesTrust’ and graciously formalized the Modernites ScholarshipProgramme. As the Chairman he also initiated the Gurudakshinaprogramme in 1997.

    Late Mr. Justice Mahinder Narain (Posthumously)

    Class of 1954, He was appointed Judge of the Delhi High Court in July 1985 andbecame the Acting Chief Justice in November 1997. He held thisesteemed office till his demise in February 1999. He significantlystood apart as a flag bearer for Women’s Rights in India and werecommitted to the Democratization of Marriage and the Elevation ofthe status of women in Indian households, which led to landmarkjudgments through the years. As a pre-eminent jurist, he diligentlypresided over landmark cases concerning patents, copyright,dissolution of marriage, corporate law and the Constitution of India.A prolific writer, he authored several books including the seminalworks - 'The Contempt of Law Casebook'.

    Mr. M. L. Verma

    Class of 1959, He enrolled as an advocate with the Delhi Bar Council in September1964. Upon successfully clearing the All India Services Examination hejoined the Indian Revenue Service in 1966. Post that, the Delhi HighCourt-appointed him as Junior Standing Counsel for the Income TaxDepartment in 1977 and Senior Standing Counsel in 1979. Later in1987, he was designated, senior advocate and subsequently elevated tothe position of a permanent judge of the Delhi High Court. Afterdemitting office as a judge, he went back to practicing law as a senioradvocate in the Supreme Court of India. An avid photographer, he hasparticipated in numerous exhibitions in India & abroad.

    Dr. Rajeev B. Ahuja

    Class of 1972, He graduated from Maulana Azad Medical College in 1977 and thencompleted his MS in Surgery, and MCh in Plastic Surgery fromPGIMER, Chandigarh. He was appointed as a Consultant in MAMC in1984. He took the role of VRS in 2017, having served the Departmentas a Head for 22 years. Currently, he is a Senior Consultant at SirGanga Ram Hospital, New Delhi. In 2018, he received the NationalBoard of Examinations Award for Excellence in Medical Education, bythe Hon’ble Vice President of India. In the year 2000, he received theState Award from Government of NCT Delhi. He was recentlynominated to the ‘Institute Body’ of PGIMER, Chandigarh by theGovernment.

    Dr. Arvind Kishore

    Class of 1972, He is a renowned Homoeopathic consultant, with over 40 years ofexperience in the medical field. He graduated from University Collegeof Medical Sciences New Delhi in 1977. He then completed his post-graduation in Homoeopathy, from the Faculty of Homoeopathy at theRoyal London Homoeopathic College in 1980. Subsequently, he joinedhis father Late Dr. Jugal Kishore, the eminent Homoeopathicphysician. He co-authored a book on Homeopathic Repertorization with him.

    During his continued career, he has successfully treated thousands ofpatients holistically and has built up a team of dedicated and diligentdoctors.

    Class of 1972, During his 14-year stint with Hindustan Unilever Ltd., he handledsenior assignments in Home, Personal Care and Foods businesses. Hissuccessful career has seen him in crucial roles - Vice President-Sales,Whirpool; the Executive Director, Sales (South Asia), PepsiCo;Managing Director of Times Innovative Media Ltd. Currently, he isCEO & Co-founder of Incon Strategy Advisors Pvt Ltd. Alongside yourrobust corporate career, you maintained a strong relation with ModernSchool. He has held various positions - President MSOSA, Member ofthe Managing Committee MSBK & MSVV, Chairman ModernitesTrust and Term Trustee Modern School. Presently, he is activelysupporting the centenary project - Centre of Excellence Project.

    Mr. Rakesh Kapoor

    Class of 1975, After completing BE (Hons) in Chemical Engineering from the BirlaInstitute of Technology and Science (BITS), Pilani, he earned an MBAfrom XLRI- Xavier School of Management, Jamshedpur, India. Hejoined Reckitt & Colman in 1987 and have served in various rolesincluding Regional Sales Manager, North India; General Manager,Indian Southern Region; and Regional Marketing Director, South Asia.Following the merger of Reckitt & Coleman with Benckiser in 1999, hewas elevated to the position of Senior Vice President, Home Care. InJuly 2006, he was promoted to EVP, Category Development. He wasChief Executive Officer of Reckitt Benckiser plc, a UK FTSE-listedmultinational consumer goods company until his retirement inSeptember 2019.

After a brief stint with the private sector, he joinedthe Indian Administrative Service in 1986 and was assigned AGMUTCadre. During his 34 eventful years in public service, he has heldimportant posts including - Additional Secretary, Department ofTelecommunications; Additional Secretary & Financial Advisor inDepartment of Rural Development; Joint Secretary, Ministry of Health& Family Welfare, Director, Department of Economic Affairs. Heserved as the Chief Secretary of Delhi in 2017-18.Since, August 2019he is serving as Secretary, Department of Telecommunications.

    Mr. Vishal Uppal

    Class of 1994, He was a prodigious Tennis talent right from Raghubir Singh JuniorModern School days. He received the Prestigious Kiran Seth MemorialAward in school. He went on to accomplish exceptional achievements incollege and thereafter. During the Davis Cup debut in 2000, he wonthe decisive match against South Korea. He won a Bronze medal in theAsian Games in Busan, South Korea in 2002. In 2002, he wasawarded - The Rajiv Gandhi Khel Puraskar by the Delhi Government.During his distinguished career, he has won 45 International TennisTitles in Singles & Doubles. In March 2020, he became the first IndianCaptain to lead the Indian Fed Cup team to the World Group PlayoffStage for the first time ever.
